L'aérodrome de la Baie de Somme, France. Lots of little 'planes here, coming and going much of the time. There is a pilot's club and a flying school, plus restaurant, bar, and accomodation for travellers. Like me! The French Mig (I think) I posted in the photo association thread is situated in front of the "accomodation block" The image below was taken through our bedroom window.

The 00 sign indicates that this is a plane from Belgium, and is registered as a Confluence Rans Coyote.

The details have long been lost in the rusty gears of my brain but ..... back 1966, Northrop flew a few of us new recruits out to the Airforce base in Palmdale.
We were exiting our puddle jumper, walking to a hangar, looked across the base and far away, this black space ship is being pulled out of its hangar. Didn't look so weird until it rotated, nose facing us. (We were like 22 years old). What is that???? We start running toward it.... you never saw so many military people in jeeps come out of nowhere.
We spent the next 30 minutes showing ID's, etc etc.
Big thrill for a fledgling Aeronautical engineer.
    .
Here it is in a museum a few years ago.

Footnote: We took 3 of my grandkids to the Air & Space Museum. I am in awe, walking around like I was 15 years old again.
My grandkids are in the cafeteria playing some kind of cell phone games.

    Honest .... I don't get it.

And thank you for your patience with my stories.

    Oh what a thread!

First is a shot which sums up modern travel for me. Heathrow T5 waiting to depart, with a BA 747 leaving. Second is a brand new BA 787 taken at Boeing field, Seattle. We were visiting when this beauty taxied out and took off and climbed out in a ridiculously short space. Can’t have been the delivery flight, but was lovely to see.
Heathrow shot with x-e2 and 18-55. Seattle shot with canon eos 40d and 70-200L before I sold it all to go to Fuji.
Third shot same camera lens combo, Seattle museum of flight. Static display with departure from Seattle passing overhead..
(Sorry if they don’t upload in the right order.)
