Wow - I think we need a separate thread for moody bridges! Nice work, @adamjbonn and @Vikman.

    Thank you very much!

    Yeah it’s bridge week

My bridge isn’t quite in my backyard, more like 5 km away

We nearly went to the beach that day, but instead decided on the jardins do palacio de cristal (garden of the crystal palace), just as well as that fog was covering the beach!

I mean probably good for photography, but not good for a day on the beach!

Amusingly, I suspect that despite being miles apart, Vikman’s photo and mine are possibly and approximately on the same latitude

Same latitude perhaps, but definitely on the same mindset ;)

Impatient pony, old stone byre. Maybe only atmospheric to me as a reminder of childhood!

Autumn in Tasmania - April 2018

Australia has but one deciduous tree - Nothofagus gunnii or 'Fagus' and it is restricted to sub-alpine habitat in Tasmania - and there isn't a lot of that.
It's a Gondwana descendant and the signature species that substantiates tectonic drift theory. Living relatives are found in New Zealand and Patagonia with the Antarctic fossil record holding more evidence.
We are very proud of our Fagus and the fantastic colours of the leaves when it turns. Those low shrubs are probably >200 years old.
The boulders are Jurassic Dolerite erratics left behind from the Pleistocene ice age ~ 11,000 years.
Very strange weather, clear sky over head with a roiling mass of cloud just on the other side of the ridge.

Is this Moody? Not sure, but we certainly felt the atmosphere on this windy South Uist beach. Tried to capture the blowing sand, etc, but think I would have been better off with video!
