Robert are you still going to make just the baseplate for the X-T2?
We have a baseplate design that we could build if there is interest. It's identical except no front grip
Would you build one or do you want multiple orders before you build them.
I might be interested in a baseplate as well. Still looking around what's available. On the X-T1 I had a RRS baseplate which I really liked, no grip or so, the X-T1 worked fine for me as it was I only needed some height added and a quick release dove tail.
I will need to ask the engineer if there is a CAD model that exists which has the latest revision of the baseplate design without the front grip.
There is an early revision without a front grip but I'm not sure if that version has all the baseplate updates.
Notification arrived that the Metro Case is on it's way!
My dear wife just texted me at work ... my X-T2 Metro Case has arrived! Can't wait to get home and give it a try.
Wait. What? The XT10 grip fits the X-T20?
Arrived today, Well made and fits well. Good job, Robert!
Does it use the same screw hole for attaching to the camera and for the tripod mount? I ask because if it does, it feels like unscrewing the tripod would also make the case loose.
Robert never heard back from you on this so Im guessing its not going to happen?
It could happen, but only if there is enough interest. I would suggest trying the one with the grip, it really adds a nice feel and it adds almost nothing to the weight.
Would I be able to see some photos of the inside and bottom side of the case?
Sure, I'll post some
Here are pics showing the cutouts for weight savings, the hole for the speaker & optical axis mark
Speaking of T2 grips... are you going to have a nice beefy hand grip available for the T2 like you did for the T1? It would be great to have one that would work with the battery grip.
If someone just wants the baseplate, couldn't they just saw the handgrip part off and sand it smooth?
