The Laowa 12mm f2.8 Zero-D for Full Frame has as pretty good reputation, so I'll be quite interested to see how this lens holds up.

Christopher Frost released a YouTube review which is quite positive on balance. Very interesting, though USD499 is a tiny bit steep for me for full manual.

I quite intrigued by this lens, hopefully some discounts come into play to bring the price down.

Wow. Brilliant photographer. Based on his images and Frost's testing, there does seem to be a ton of vignetting that he doesn't seem to mind at all (unlike me). But aside from that correctable fault, very nice. I'm likely to go for this. Preferably at a lower price in not too long a time.

Supposedly it will be available in Australia on 15 April at AUD$799.00 (US$615.00) but they are offering a AUD$150.00 bonus pack of three filters (ND, CP, UV) with pre orders. Given that the filters are probably worth nothing like $150 it sounds like somebody is trying to make money from the hype about this lens to me.

I also ordered mine on the 22th of March but up to now, no arrival or even a shipment message. :(
Sent them a message that I would appreciate to get some information on whats going on.

Mine is out for delivery today (2 days ahead of schedule!). I wonder if I was one of the first 100 to order. Guess I'll find out when I get filters or not.

Yesterday I got a reply from Venus that they have some production issues and that they have slowed down their production in order to guarantee good quality .
So most of the deliveries will be delayed. But for the sake of quality I'm OK with that

Mine arrived here in UK this morning. Looks pretty good. Solidly built, and smooth in operation. Only taken a few test shots but distortion appears to be minimal at worst, or non existent at best.
Supposedly there was a filter set to come with it, but that has been delayed.
However the lens is here and it looks to be a good buy.

Filters only came with the first 100 orders. I got my filter set with my lens.

My supplier tells me that I qualify for them. 2 weeks, or so they say.

The only filter that may be useful to me is the ND, anyway. Even with that filter, I'll have to see how severe the vignetting is.

I have the 10-24 and when I take photo's like those above I use photoshop to correct the verticals.

Why is it that non of these manual lenses couple withthe fuji system electronically so that the camra can both identify the lens and know the aperature. When I use manual aperature with Fuji lenses the EVF is bright as the photo will tuern out. But then I use a third party lens if I stop it down the EVF goes dark, so I have to open it to focus and then stop it down again to take the photo, I am not sure why this is.
