I just bought the Fuji X-T20 with the 18-55 for $1200. But now the Fuji X-T2 (with 18-55) is selling for $1500, which is just $300 more than the X-T20. I'm wondering if I should return the T20 and get the T2.

I'll be using this for video work while traveling, so the f-log and slow motion features in the X-T2 seems attractive to me. At the same time, touch screen on the X-T20 would help with focus transitions. And the X-T20 being smaller is also nicer for travel. But the X-T2 with the $400 discount seems like a good deal, so if I decide to change things up later this year, I might not lose that much money if I have to sell this.

    Any tips?

They both use the same sensor. Which one feels best in your hands? Compare sided by side at your camera store. Is slomo really something you will actually use for travel imaging?

  3. For the difference in money IMO the X-T2 is the better buy. It is the more advanced body of the two for photos and video. I also believe the X-T2 will receive more firmware updates then the X-T20 will going forward. If you want to look at resale value then IMO the X-T2 will win that race also.

The XT2 is better built, has weather sealing, so it should last longer.

I can't help you in your choice - I've only handled an X-T20 in store. However last week I bought an X-T2, trading in my X-T1 and X-E2 for it. I've got to say I'm very impressed with the X-T2. The build quality feels much better to me - it just seemed a more substantial camera than the X-T20. I might be wrong of course - only time will tell. The X-T2 is more of a change from the X-T1 than I thought it would be and so far I'm very pleased with the results.

The X-T2 is on sale right now at any of the big 3 for $1099.....as a dedicated X-T20 user, I grabbed one ( I normally carry 2 X-T20's).

T2 all the way. Dual sd cards, ISO dial, weather resistant, bigger evf, 3 battery grip option, list goes on.....

    XT2 for me.
But really you need to see which one fits best in your hands.

Thank you all for your input. I've ordered the T2, hopefully I'll get it on time so I can compare both and return one of them.

    Good choice, IMHO.

I have both and XT2 every single time, mainly due to joystick AF.

Get back on the XT20 after using that and it does my nut!

XT20 is purely a backup camera for me now.

Unless you need a feature that the X-T2 provides that the X-T20 lacks, upgrading makes little sense. Are you willing to pay extra just for the f-log and slow motion features of the X-T2? Adding f-log to your workflow means increased video processing work. Paying extra for features you don't need or use makes no sense.
