A modern smart phone or smart watch would be a way more attractive object to a thief than any Fuji camera and would be much easier to turn into cash. When streets are full of people with expensive phones, watches, tablets and notebook computers that are often not properly secured or watched mugging somebody to steal a camera attached to their wrist by a strap seems to me to be the least likely course of action.

Hey Leica did that to a camera then doubled the price and they still sold out. So maybe the OP has something here and this concept has a future.

So much discussion of thievery. I literally spend zero minutes ever thinking about having my gear stolen, though I live and work in a major metropolitan area, and certainly wouldn’t bother to camouflage it. While I don’t really get the desire to pimp out a camera to this extent, I enjoy seeing the creations of those that do.

I think you will find, on closer inspection Richard, that the wrist strap is attached to the lens making this X100G, very easy to steal.

I think it looks cool! Doesn't take better images but gives an impression that the owner is a long time shooter. I have had people point my X100S out to their children and grandchildren and say "now there is a REAL camera!" Then I show them the back and watch as they are amazed it is a digital camera. I have also had my Electro35 GS accused of being a "Leica"!

Well I doubt that I could do this to my camera but I think it looks pretty cool.

So I have this brand new Mercedes.........hey !!! Stands back ......Ive got a great idea .....Im going to whack a few dents in it Crack the windscreen. Get fat Trevor to bounce on the bonnet..knock out a couple of indicators.....sandpaper the paintwork and put some dog doos on the back seat.

What a strange world we live in. You paint it gold to make it look LESS valuable?
