Having just bought an XT-1 with a XF18-135 and an XF35 - I was wondering if anybody has used the MCEX-16 with the 18-135? I like doing macro and image stacking so until I can afford the 60mm I was thinking of making so with the MCEX-16!

    Appreciate any thoughts.

    All the best,
    Steve

I posted a question about combining the Zeiss 50/2.8 Touit Macro with extension tubes. Alas, no responses :(.

It occurred to me that perhaps someone in this thread might have tried this combination...

Any experience would be greatly appreciated. Bonus points for images. :)

I have not used the Zeiss 50mm, but I have played with it. It is a great lens. It is also a true 1:1 macro even without tubes. I think adding tubes would reduce the working distance on a 50mm lens to nearly zero, so I am not sure how useful extension tubes would be with this lens. I use a manual Minolta 50mm macro a lot and find it to be a very useful focal length macro.

    Thank you for the response!

I just found evidence of at least one person trying it at the Fuji booth at a show. It includes a handheld image of a person's eye (the reviewer notes he just missed focus due to those conditions).

    It is a start :)

I have both the lens and a set of extension tubes but have never tried them in combination I'm afraid. I can try over the weekend if that helps?

That would be great. I am curious.
