I thought something was different after installing 5.0, though I can't pinpoint exactly what changed.

Can anyone expand on the two fixes above?
    1. What exactly was disabled?
    2. What front command dial flash functionality is improved?

I updated one of my X-T1 bodies to FW 5.01, left the second at FW 5.00, and then made comparisons. I do not claim the tests are comprehensive and hope others will add test results.

    1. In 5.01, it's now possible to use either command dial to step through menus, both the main menus (shooting, playback, setup), and Q Menu settings. Both command dials appear to have identical functionality in this respect. A few minor differences were noted between front and rear dials in some of the flash sub-menus (e.g., TTL mode and 1st and 2nd curtain settings).

    2. In 5.00, the above functionality is restricted to the rear command dial. It has been stated elsewhere in the forums that updating from 4.31 to 5.00 disabled some front dial functionality, but I was unable to test this assertion.

    3. In both 5.00 and 5.01, front command dial functionality regarding shutter speed changes (T setting), program shift, and several other actions are identical.

    4. "Improved flash functionality" is not immediately evident. I tested both bodies (FW 5.00 and 5.01) with different lenses, the same lenses, the supplied flash (EF-X8), Nissin gear (i40, i60A, and Air 1), etc. This got confusing at times because the range of possible settings is large. In all cases, FW 5.00 and 5.01 appear identical with respect to flash functionality. Note that I have no Fuji-branded units including the EF-X500, so no tests there.

I did notice that finally my Yongnuo's will fire with 2nd curtain sync. Multi mode is still missing, though.

Decided that with my Cactus system up and running it is time to update my XT1 from v4.31 to v5.01
It is done, update applied, so tomorrow I will test as far as I can in my currently limited time.

1 a ) Detail of the update (Fujifilm) : "The functions allocated to the Front command dial are added which became disable when the firmware was upgraded to ver.5.00 from ver.4.31."
As mentionned, the front command dial already worked in Menu ans Q Menu , but just before 5.00

1 b) No, "it's not the case", the front and rear command dials do not have the same functionality.

I really liked having both SS and F controlled by the command dials. Now I'm left to control only the SS. (I can switch it to the front or back command dial.)
